Product Description

Dura-Touch camo finish, aluminum alloy receiver, Lightning Trigger, Speed Lock Forearm, Power Drive Gas System, autoloader waterfowl shotgun

Be Careful When You Set It Down. Mossy Oak's Shadow Grass Blades camo is so effective that you'll want to be careful when it comes to setting it down in the marsh - it might take you a minute to find it again. This camo finish is applied with Browing's Dura-Touch Armor Coating, an incredibly comfortable finish that feels warm to the touch on cold mornings and provides a positive gripping surface even when it's wet.

Every feature on the Maxus is premium and well-engineered. The PowerDrive Gas System is capable of cycling a wide range of loads and will take a good deal of the sting out of those 3 1/2" magnum goose loads. Likewise, the Lightning Trigger, with the fast trigger lock time of any autoloader trigger in its class, will improve your chances of staying on target when you're trying to reach out to those high flying honkers.

Aluminum alloy construction. This feature of the Maxus's receiver contributes to its low overall weight, something the hard core duck hunter will appreciate when you're lugging 40 decoys in a pack through thigh-deep mud and muck to your favorite spot that no one else is willing to slog to.

Speed Lock Forearm
The Speed Lock Forearm is one of the most innovative features found on the Browning Maxus autoloader shotgun. A simple lift of a lever allows you to remove the forearm in less than a few seconds. Also, this same lever is used to attach or remove a sling just as quickly

Most repeating shotguns use a knurled screw-on magazine cap on the end of the tubular magazine - these caps can be difficult to remove, especially after being exposed to the dirt and grime that we seem to be a magnet for while out in the field, woods, or marshes. The Speed Lock Forearm allows you to quickly and easily remove the forearm to easily access the magazine plug or to allow you perform quick cleaning for extended periods in the field without taking the chance of losing a relatively small magazine cap.

LIGHTNING TRIGGER SYSTEM

A solid performing trigger is something usually reserved for rifles and seldom found on shotguns. You will, however, find one on the Maxus. In fact, we're so impressed with the new Lightning Trigger System in the Maxus, we think it might be the finest ever offered in an autoloading shotgun.  The Lightning Trigger is designed to offer a smooth, crisp feel with minimal travel. With lock times averaging 5.20 milliseconds, the Lightning Trigger is 24% faster than the nearest competing autoloader, making every pull perfect.  It's also easy to remove for cleaning.

Power Drive Gas System
Gas operated shotguns offer the performance advantages of reduced recoil and faster operation, and the new Power Drive Gas System in the Maxus outperforms every other shotgun built.

Years of extensive research, prototyping and testing have resulted in a new gas piston that has been designed to be more reliable in all conditions, fire a wider selection of loads, reduce recoil and cycle shells faster. The new Power Drive gas piston features large exhaust ports that effectively dump gases faster on heavy loads, while the piston has an approximately 20% longer stroke for superior reliability with light loads.

An all-new, patented, enclosed seal design keeps powder residue out of the action for cleaner, reliable operation.  This -- combined with the piston's longer stroke travel -- makes it particularly reliable with light loads. Power Drive equals outstanding performance.

Speed Load Plus
Speed Loading has been popular on Browning autoloaders for decades. Browning’s patent-pending feeding system sends the first shell loaded into the magazine directly into the chamber.

The "Plus" in Speed Load Plus means unloading is just as easy. On some autoloaders unloading the magazine requires the repetitive working of the action to chamber then eject shells one at a time. The speed unload feature makes emptying the magazine fast and easy, without having to to do this. Speed Load has always been an essential feature for the most avid duck hunters who like the speed with which they can reload the chamber after unloading their magazine -- to get back on the next birds faster.

“Speed loading” became synonymous with John Moses Browning's Automatic 5 but was actually the invention of his son Val Browning (also a great gun designer) with the patent awarded in 1952.

The Speed Load Plus feature is demonstrated and explained in the video below using the new Browning A5.
